Skiplagging — also referred to as "hidden city" or "throwaway" ticketing — involves booking a flight with a layover in the intended destination city and then bailing on the second leg. I've never done the skiplagged thing, but I've been involved in one situation where this rule should have been applied, and it wasn't. "Skiplagged deceives the public into believing that, even though it has no authority to form and issue a contract on American's behalf, somehow it can still issue a completely valid ticket. However, I’ve also found hidden-city fares that are significantly cheaper than the cost of a direct flight.
